Google and Delphi have reported accidents involving their driverless test vehicles. Chris Urmson, Director of Google’s SDC program, reported that all 11 accidents were minor (“light damage, no injuries”) and occurred over 2.72 million km of testing. He added: “Not once was the self-driving car the cause of the accident”.
What role will insurers play in insuring these vehicles?
